UDC has been given a BBB credit rating by Standard & Poor’s. This is an investment grade rating.
Standard & Poor’s gives credit ratings from AAA Extremely Strong through to C Currently Highly Vulnerable. A credit rating is an independent opinion of the capability and willingness of an entity to repay its debts (in other words, its creditworthiness). It is not a guarantee that the financial product being offered is a safe investment. A credit rating should be considered alongside all other relevant information when making an investment decision. On 20 April 2016, Standard & Poor’s placed UDC on credit watch negative when ANZ announced that it was reviewing its continued ownership in UDC. UDC remains on credit watch negative pending the finalisation of the conditional sale of UDC to the HNA Group.
In Standard & Poor’s annual review published on 29 November 2017, UDC’s rating remains the same.
